Sunday, December 12, 2010
6-8pm

Levi’s Workshop
18 Wooster Street
New York, NY 10013

Please join The People Speak for a special live performance and slideshow of historical photographs from the Library of Congress digital collections. The evening will feature special guests bringing to life voices – famous and forgotten – from the many movements for civil rights throughout U.S. history.

Special guests include Eisa Davis (Passing Strange), Michael Ealy (For Colored Girls, The Good Wife), Greta Gerwig (Greenberg), singer songwriter Allison Moorer, and Michael Stipe of REM!

Come hear the actual words – in letters, poems, speeches, songs, and manifestos – of rebels, dissenters, and visionaries from our past and present, in an innovative workshop, gallery and photo studio.
